The highway A62, approaching Bordeaux, is a major road for commuter traffic from the Bordeaux metropolitan area, providing access to the Bordeaux ring road. As a key artery in the road network, it is particularly affected by morning congestion.
The primary objective of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Regional Directorate for the Environment, Planning and Housing (DREAL Nouvelle-Aquitaine) is to develop a high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane. This initiative aims to reduce congestion times on the highway network leading to the ring road for vehicles with two or more passengers, thereby increasing the number of passengers transported, improving traffic flow, and promoting more environmentally friendly modes of transportation.
DREAL Nouvelle-Aquitaine has enlisted Neovya to conduct dynamic simulations of three development scenarios using the advanced Neovya Hubsim software. These simulations will evaluate the impact of each scenario on traffic flow to identify the most effective solution for drivers in the Bordeaux metropolitan area.
To alleviate congestion on the A62 highway approaching Bordeaux, the development of a carpooling lane was planned. Various layout scenarios were quickly simulated using Neovya Hubsim, an intuitive, user-friendly, and highly effective tool.
